Acu-Black PE100 material is engineered with a 50-year Minimum Required Strength (MRS) of 10 MPa. However, in practice, its actual strength surpasses the design specifications, with PE100 pipelines expected to endure up to 100 years under normal operating conditions.
The designation “Acu-Black” derives from the PE pipe’s black exterior, which incorporates carbon black at a concentration of 2.25 ± 0.25% by mass, serving as an ultraviolet radiation absorber. This additive confers Acu-Black PE100 with remarkable UV resistance, ideal for exposed PE pressure pipe products.
Acu-Black PE Pipe facilitates various joining methods, including electrofusion fittings, butt welding equipment, or compression fittings. Heat-fused jointing systems establish a monolithic structure stronger than the pipe itself, ensuring complete leak-free performance. This eliminates the risk of rubber seal failure over time, addresses root intrusion concerns, and upholds pipeline integrity, particularly in unstable ground conditions.
