The construction industry has seen a major leap forward in the past 40 years with the widespread adoption of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe for gas, water, and power utilities.
HDPE’s many benefits include excellent impact resistance, fusion welded joints, high tensile strength, chemical and corrosion resistance, and ease-of-handling and installation make it the material of choice. Trenchless installation techniques reduce time on site and the costs associated with disruption to existing services and utilities.
A notable project includes the Cannington Wastewater Upgrade, where we supplied high-stress crack-resistant polyethylene piping.
Cannington Wastewater Upgrade
In the Cannington Wastewater Upgrade project, Acu-Tech supplied a significant amount of 630mm PN20 high-stress crack-resistant polyethylene piping (HSCR) for installing a secondary wastewater pipeline beneath a suburban river in Perth. The project involved complex underground welding and drilling, executed by the contractor, with Acu-Tech providing tailored lengths of 20-meter PN20 SDR9 PE100 630mm HSCR Cream Stripe Pipe, flanges, and fabricated tees and spools. Our Acu-Sewer pipe system, designed for high stress crack resistance, ensured reliability and minimal environmental impact. Acu-Tech’s transport and logistics department facilitated efficient delivery, and comprehensive in-house testing confirmed compliance with AS 4130 standards.
