Acu-Black PE100 Pressure Pipe Products: Your Reliable Choice for Durable Piping Solutions

Acu-Black PE100 material is engineered with a 50-year Minimum Required Strength (MRS) of 10 MPa. However, in practice, its actual strength surpasses the design specifications, with PE100 pipelines expected to endure up to 100 years under normal operating conditions.

The designation “Acu-Black” derives from the PE pipe’s black exterior, which incorporates carbon black at a concentration of 2.25 ± 0.25% by mass, serving as an ultraviolet radiation absorber. This additive confers Acu-Black PE100 with remarkable UV resistance, ideal for exposed PE pressure pipe products.

Acu-Black PE Pipe facilitates various joining methods, including electrofusion fittings, butt welding equipment, or compression fittings. Heat-fused jointing systems establish a monolithic structure stronger than the pipe itself, ensuring complete leak-free performance. This eliminates the risk of rubber seal failure over time, addresses root intrusion concerns, and upholds pipeline integrity, particularly in unstable ground conditions.

ACU-BLACK™ PE100 POLYPIPE

Key features & benefits.

  • Suitable for installation according to AS 3500.1:2003 “Water services”
  • Heat-fused jointing systems create a monolithic structure that is stronger than the pipe itself, and completely leak-free. This eliminates rubber seals which can fail over time, also solving root intrusion problems, and provides pipeline integrity where installed in unstable ground. No dangerous chemicals or glues involved in jointing.
  • No anchor or thrust blocks are needed to prevent joint blow-out when using heat fusion welded jointing. Correctly made heat fusion joints may be expected to last the life of the system and withstand thrust/end loads equal to the strength of the pipe/ fitting without adding external restraint or thrust blocking.
  • Extreme flexibility of pipe allows cold bending to accommodate minor changes in direction.
  • Large range of fittings available, providing flexibility of design.
  • Pressure rating of PN12.5 (1250 kPa) or PN16 (1600 kPa) at 20°C, including safety factor of 1.25.
  • Manufactured to AS/NZS 4130 “Polyethylene – PE – pipes for pressure applications” and AS/NZS 4129 “Fittings for polyethylene (PE) pipes for pressure applications”
  • 20 mm to 110 mm diameter polyethylene water pipe is available in 50, 100, 150 and 200 metre coils. Larger diameters and custom lengths can be coiled to order.
  • 25 mm to 800 mm diameter PE water pipe is generally available in 6 and 12 metre lengths. Lengths up to 22 metres made to order.
  • Acu-Black PE pipe can be joined with electrofusion fittings, butt welding equipment or compression fittings.
  • Black PE pipe – sizes below can be made in SDR7.4, SDR9, SDR11, SDR13.6, SDR17, SDR21, SDR26, SDR33, SDR41
